Understanding Multiplication by 10
🎯 Key Concept
When we multiply a number by 10, we add one zero to the right of that number.
Examples:
5 × 10 = 50
Add one zero: 5 → 50
23 × 10 = 230
Add one zero: 23 → 230
156 × 10 = 1,560
Add one zero: 156 → 1,560
🚀 Multiple Multiplications by 10
When we multiply by 10 multiple times, we add the same number of zeros:
Multiplying by 10 twice:
7 × 10 × 10 = 7 × 100 = 700
Add two zeros: 7 → 700
Multiplying by 10 three times:
3 × 10 × 10 × 10 = 3 × 1,000 = 3,000
Add three zeros: 3 → 3,000
