In this interactive simulation, students refer back to the previous glycolysis simulation by transferring its end products — pyruvate molecules — from the cytoplasm into the mitochondrion. Following guidance, they add the required inputs and observe how each pyruvate is converted into acetyl-CoA, releasing carbon dioxide and generating NADH — preparing the cell for the next stage of aerobic respiration.
